The Iranian Widow

This is another one of those spiders that should be avoided. Its scientific name is Latrodectus dahli

It can be found in southern Europe, northern Africa, and southwestern Asia.


This spider has an LD of .0198 mg/kg  which  although is 10 times less potent than its cousin the black widow (.002 mg/kg) is still venomous enough to cause serious health concerns.
