1Ouch! Safety During Earthquakes on July 31st 2014, 5:59 am

As earthquakes continue to be on the rise in areas where they used to not occur there is an increasing demand for knowledge on how to be safe during earthquakes.

If you are indoors then you should drop to your hands and knees and quickly crawl under a desk or table. Naturally, you should not use elevators.

If you are outdoors move to a clear area away from power lines, trees, signs, buildings, vehicles, and other hazards.

If you are near the shore then drop, cover, and hold on until the shaking stops. If shaking lasts more than 18 seconds then you should immediately evacuate to higher ground as a tsunami might be on its way. Do not wait around for official word to do this from authorities and those in charge as this would afford you little time.

Last and most importantly , DON'T panic.

it is the natural order for all things to come to an end
It is not a matter of if it is going to happen but when
